Having done my Bachelor's in Mass Media (Journalism) from Sophia College for Women, Mumbai, I had decided that I would work in the field of empowerment. The journey began with a job at Teach for India as a fellow for a year. I taught a batch of 30, fifth grade students in a socially and economically drained environment.
The above experience inspired me to become a photojournalist. I wanted to visually communicate human emotion, the state of life, to strengthen the various debates on rights and issues that people long before me have been fighting to have.
To learn more about the technical, ethical parts of photojournalism, and to expand my view in the journalism aspect, I pursued a course in Photojournalism from Loyalist College in Belleville, Onatrio.
My aim is to use my abilities to write, produce multimedia and photographs to give a voice to issues that globally face us today. Apart from that, I like telling personal stories from local communities.
